Completing a second Master's degree in IT Management (M.A.) at IU International University. Combined with my IT M.Sc., this advanced degree strengthens my approach to engineering leadership by integrating academic insights with real-world practice.
About Me
With over 15 years of experience in software engineering, I currently work as an Engineering Manager across two teams at Germany's largest private university. Our focus is on building and maintaining critical communication systems that support the university's pre-sales processes and directly impact student engagement across global markets.
I began my career at the same time modern web development was gaining momentum, alongside the rise of new frameworks, the emergence of APIs, the advent of containerisation, microservices architecture, and the early days of cloud computing. From developing and maintaining websites and CMS platforms, I progressed to architecting and scaling complex distributed systems, closely following technological shifts from their inception.
What continues to drive me is helping engineers grow, both technically and personally. I strive to create environments where people feel trusted, take initiative, and evolve through learning and collaboration. Leadership, in my view, is not just about meeting delivery targets, but about nurturing autonomy, building trust, and enabling long-term impact.
Over the years, I've contributed in many capacities: as a developer, as a trusted technical reference within the team, and as someone who naturally took on coordination, mentoring, and architectural guidance. These experiences have helped me build a leadership style that combines technical depth with empathy and clarity.
Why Systemic Lead?
Throughout my 15+ years in software engineering and several years leading teams, I noticed a pattern: teams fail not because of bad code, but because of missing context, poor communication, false confidence, or stagnant growth.
Systemic Lead is my answer to these challenges, a philosophy I've developed and practiced as an Engineering Manager at Germany's largest private university, and now share through writing, workshops, and coaching.
I've applied these principles while leading cross-functional engineering teams, navigating high-stakes projects, and mentoring engineers at all levels. What started as personal observations evolved into a structured framework that others could apply in their own leadership journeys.
The four principles, Context Over Commands, Communication as Infrastructure,Confidence Through Clarity, and Continuous Improvement as Culture, form the foundation of everything I teach and practice.
